I know that many people in other countries say that “Raw Fish? Yewwwww!”.

But, I tell you, Japanese raw fish are really fresh!
And when they are fresh, they are really really good.
(Of course it doesn’t smell!!!)

If you visit Japan, try the raw fish!

My French friend loved Japanese food but there was one thing which he couldn’t eat, the whole cooked fish, Yaki-zakana.
He told me that he couldn’t stand eating the fish when the cooked fish looking at you.
It is normal for Japanese to cook the whole fish and neatly peel off the skin and the bones with a chop stick.

If you come to Japan, you’ve got to eat it!
Japanese fish are normally very fresh so it doesn’t smell bad and you will find out how good the fish tastes!

今日(きょう)は鰻(うなぎ)を使(つか)った料理(りょうり)をご紹介(しょうかい)したいと思(おも)います。
関東方面(かんとうほうめん)では蒸(む)して食(た)べ、関西方面(かんさいほうめん)では焼(や)いて食(た)べます。
私(わたし)は「焼(や)く派(は)」です。
これは、炭(すみ)で焼(や)いたものです。

とてもおいしいです！

It might be hard to imagine for the people who have never tasted… Japanese rice are sticky, so, if you pound the rice, it will become like this.
(This one was dried afterwards.)

In January, when Japanese celebrate New Year, we eat rice cakes in a traditional way, calling “ZO-NI”.

But in my house, it is special.
Since my family love it too much, It is not only New Year… we eat it all year around!

１月(いちがつ)のお正月(しょうがつ)には、「お雑煮(ぞうに)」を食(た)べます。

しかし、うちではちょっと違(ちが)います。
うちの家族(かぞく)はお餅(もち)が大好(だいす)きなので、お正月(しょうがつ)だけでなく１年中(いちねんじゅう)食(た)べます！
