In the Japanese law it is said that to thank the sea and hope the flourish of Japan surrounded of the sea.

日本(にほん)では、「海の日(うみのひ)」が国民(こくみん)の休日(きゅうじつ)だということを知(し)っていましたか？
7月(しちがつ)の3週目(さんしゅうめ)の月曜日(げつようび)にあり、日本(にほん)の法律(ほうりつ)では「海(うみ)の恩恵(おんけい)に感謝(かんしゃ)するとともに、海洋国(かいようこく)日本(にほん)の繁栄(はんえい)を願(ねが)う」と書(か)かれています。
